About JOINERS
JOINERS is a civic connection studio reimagining how people find belonging in their city. We believe community isn’t something you inherit—it’s something you join, build, and grow together. From neighborhood happy hours to youth-driven digital platforms, our projects are joyful experiments in civic infrastructure: small but powerful ways to spark connection and strengthen the fabric of everyday life.
Our work includes Revival Rounds (rotating happy hours that support local bars and shift the narrative about safety), the Oakland Activity Fair (a citywide showcase of clubs and organizations), and Rejoinder (a new digital sidekick to help teens discover community and purpose).
About Jared
JOINERS was founded in 2025 by Jared Joiner (yes, his real last name), a civic designer, former educator, and lifelong believer in the power of belonging. Raised by an educator in the DMV (Go Wizards!), Jared has led teams across public schools, philanthropy, and edtech, always at the intersection of learning science and relationships. He started JOINERS to bring that same spirit to city life—helping neighbors, institutions, and young people weave stronger ties.
